Welcome to Neuroscience at Brown University!
Learning and Memory was first offered in the summer of 2008, to great success, winning the Brown University prize for excellence in teaching in 2009. The class focuses on different aspects of learning including skill memory and working memory. Specific brain substrates are explained and clinical aspects about each of the different areas of learning and memory. The class includes experiments in which the effects of environment on memory are tested. It culminates with a day trip to Woods Hole, Massachusetts, where the class visits the MBL labs and learns about modern neuroscience research.
